Environmental Review Process

The environmental assessment process protects the environment and quality of life of the people of Newfoundland and Labrador, and facilitates the wise management of the province's natural resources. Anyone planning a project that could have a significant effect on the natural, social or economic environment must present the project for environmental assessment. The Wildlife Division plays an important role in the environmental review process by evaluating the potential impacts of human development and land use on wildlife populations and habitat.
